Parent Internet Sessions  IMG 20160210PARENTSESSION

With internet safety being high on everyone's agenda, we have put together an informative presentation specifically designed to address the current issues.  This session is directed towards parents with their children in mind.

Outline of session

The parent sessions cover the risks associated with social networking, gaming, cyberbullying and sexting.  We explore how children are using the internet and what parents can do to manage the risks associated with this.

We show a powerpoint presentation, a film and give parents small activities to do.  We also bring display boards and reference material for the parents to look at.  At the end of the session there are other resources that parents can take away.

Sessions last 75 minutes and are for parents only as the content is not suitable for children.

We can offer twilight or evening sessions.

The Safety Centre opened in 1994 as a partnership-based community safety project involving Thames Valley Police, Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service, health authorities, local government, other statutory organisations and the private sector. The centre is not centrally funded and as such relies heavily on donations and sponsorship.
